Working with researchers at Northeastern University, CSR conducted a random digit dial survey of a national sample of 2,300 employed persons. The study is concerned with the relationship between a worker's skills and educations, workplace organizational practices, technology, and wages, with emphasis on reading, writing, and math tasks, computer skill requirements and participatory work practices. The project entailed extensive questionnaire development activities with the goal of preserving continuity with existing measures while addressing many unmet needs in the field. Respondents will be re-interviewed after a 3-year interval. The study is funded by the National Science Foundation and the Russell Sage Foundation.
